A new Dojo for Newton Aycliffe Karate Club.

Some great news for the NEW Year Folks!!!! Effective immediately Thursday session will change location to Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre on Burn Lane right next to Tesco's. This is a great location with a sprung wooden floor, storage facilities plus changing rooms with showers, Tuesday will remain at Neville Parade for the short term. Times and subs will be the same. If you know anyone not on facebook then please let them know that as from 12th January it will the new location for both the 1 hour Karate and then the following 2hr open mat / Tai Chi Session. Thanks to John Ward for sourcing this fantastic facility for us.

NAKC move fully over to their new Dojo at Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre

Well this coming Tuesday is an historic day for NAKC. It's the day the club fully transfer to their new Dojo at Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre. We were at Neville Parade for nearly 40 years and for some it was an emotional good bye last week.

 

A new Sensei for Newton Aycliffe Karate Club

On Thursday 9th December 2016 Ryan Butterfield joined the ranks of our Black belts by successfully passing a rigorous grading in front of Sensei's Steve Wilkinson and Andy Bailey.

Please give to either Sensei's Stephen Wilkinson or John Ward. £20 for juniors and £25 for 16 years and over. NAKC Nafudakake

Nafudakake are wooden frames with name tags of members of the dojo listed by rank. I have created a virtual one for our Dan Grade Members. Although Ryan and Martyn are technically not Dan grades in our style they contribute alot to the club and out of respect I have included them. They are both aiming to grade officially sometime in 2016. There are other Dan grades who have graded through the club, but these are the active ones at present.

Grading Dates for 2016

Tuesday February 23rd 2016 (Will do a mop up on Thursday 25th)
Tuesday June 7th 2016
Tuesday October 25th 2016
Put these dates in your diary please.
Grading charges will be £8 for Mon Gradings (For under 10's)
Kyu Gradings £15, Brown belts £20
Dan Gradings £25
If people can't make these I we feel they are ready we will try and get them gaded at other times in the year, but these are the main dates. Something to aim for in the new year.
Anyone doing a grade must have a valid BCKA Licence and bring it with them for the grading.
